Hella and Women's Mental Health
I'm very honoured and proud to be running this workshop for the members of Hella. This wonderful group is open to every woman from any walk of life who just wants some time out, support and/or guidance. Please check them out, it's a subject very close to my heart and I hope to give these women a night to not only enjoy but take something home mentally and physically (Their work)
In August 2023 I was very proud to feature in the amazing magazine Art Etcetera. It covered a piece I had written about The Forty Elephants and the direction of my art. I talk about why I paint quite provocative pieces and what I have learnt about female history. It was an amazing feeling to be able to express myself without inappropriate criticism but also receive appreciation for sharing my thoughts and art.
I hope you do too.
I was recently given the opportunity to paint my very first mural at Chesterblade Hills. It was an experience I wasn't expecting to be so emotional. The first day it absolutely tipped down, but being a single mum on a tight schedule I was out there with an umbrella in hand, painting gloopy black paint on the background. It dried with drip marks everywhere. I then proceeded to attempt to paint and discovered that the wall was extremely difficult to paint on. I cried my way home that very first day, questioning absolutely everything from my abilities to my life choices. After giving myself a stern talking too, pulling myself together and doing some research, I returned the next day with a more open mind. Over three weeks and grabbing hours and days where I could I finally created something I am extremely proud of and reflects exactly what Chesterblade hills is all about.
P.S. It glows in the dark to but I haven't been able to get a picture.
